Privacy policy

Last updated . Plain English, no surprises.

This policy explains what personal data the FDE Providers (“we”, “the platform”) collects, why, who processes it on our behalf, how long we keep it and what you can ask us to do with it. The platform is operated by Magic Makers Lab, which is the data controller.

1. What we collect and why

Contact and lead forms

When you submit a requirement, contact a provider, request a resource or use the contact form, we collect the details you enter: name, email address, company, job title, country, message, and the deployment requirement you describe. We use this to reply, to build your deployment profile, to introduce you to providers you choose or agree to be introduced to, and to keep a record of the introduction. Legal basis: performance of the service you asked for, and our legitimate interest in following up.

Assessment and calculator answers

The build/hire/partner assessment and the cost calculator store your answers so that a result page can be shown and, if you choose, carried into matching. Without contact details these are stored anonymously and used only in aggregate. If you add contact details the answers become part of your lead record.

Provider accounts

If you submit or claim a provider profile, we collect your name, work email, role and the company details you enter, and we verify that your email belongs to the company domain. Profile content you publish is public by design.

Analytics

We record page views and interactions (for example which filters are used, which tools are completed) with an anonymous session identifier stored in your browser, the referring page and any campaign parameters in the URL. We use this to understand which parts of the platform are useful and to measure the funnel from problem to lead. We do not use analytics data to build advertising profiles.

Technical logs

Our hosting provider records IP addresses, user agent and request metadata in server logs for security and rate limiting. Logs are retained for a short period and are not joined to lead records.

2. Who processes data on our behalf

We use a small number of processors, each under a data processing agreement:

  • Hosting and database — the application and its database (including lead, account and content records) are hosted by our cloud and database providers.
  • Email — transactional email (confirmations, introductions, verification links) is sent through an email delivery provider that processes recipient addresses and message content.
  • Analytics — product analytics are processed by an analytics provider and by our own event endpoint. Analytics data is pseudonymous unless you have identified yourself to us.
  • Payments — where providers pay for placements or subscriptions, card details are handled by a payment processor. We never see or store card numbers.

A current list of processors is available on request.

3. Sharing with providers

We share your requirement and contact details with a provider only when you contact that provider directly through the platform, or when you agree to be introduced to matched providers. Providers who receive an introduction are bound to use it only to respond to your requirement. We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with providers for marketing.

4. How long we keep data

  • Lead records: 24 months from last activity, then deleted or anonymised.
  • Provider accounts and profiles: for as long as the account is active, then 12 months.
  • Anonymous assessment and analytics events: up to 24 months, in aggregate thereafter.
  • Server logs: up to 30 days.
  • Email subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.

5. Your rights

Depending on where you are, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. You can exercise any of these by writing to us through the contact form or the email address below. We respond within 30 days. If you are in the EU/EEA or UK you also have the right to complain to your supervisory authority.

6. Cookies and local storage

We use a session cookie for signed-in provider and admin accounts, a browser storage entry for the anonymous analytics session identifier and campaign parameters, and a preference entry for light or dark theme. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

7. International transfers

Our processors may store data outside your country. Where data leaves the EU/EEA or UK we rely on standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.

8. Children

The platform is a business service and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes

We will update this page when our practices change and update the date at the top. Material changes affecting stored lead data will be announced by email to affected people.
